A Higher
Standard
Together

A free, open community of people who believe in the oneness of humanity. Not every man for himself, but every man for humanity.

Surf. Train.
Fight. Respect.
Rooted here.
Driven everywhere.
Leave it better
than you found it.
Give homage
when homage is due.
If not me,
then who.
From the street
to the beach.

Kin is bigger than blood

A clothing brand about how people should treat each other.

Not activism apparel. Not surfwear. Not streetwear. The underlying subject is character.

Surfing, fighting, lifting, travel, art, parenthood and community are simply the places where character gets expressed. Kinfolk Standard exists to put language on the way we think people ought to move through the world — and then to hand you something you can actually wear while you do it.

Free. Open. Everyone welcome.

Different people.
Same table.

The Kinfolk is a free, open community for anyone who values people, places, and purpose. There's no membership, no dues, no gatekeeping and no uniform required. You join by showing up like we belong to each other.

It started on the edge of the Pacific in Santa Cruz, California. It isn't about belonging to one place — it's about recognizing yourself in other people. Different streets. Different oceans. Different lives. Same humanity.

Nobody Eats Alone

Make room at the table. There's always another chair.

Protect Your People

And remember that "your people" can be anyone.

Leave It Better

Places. People. Situations. All three count.

Stay Curious

Difference isn't danger. It's the whole point.

Rooted here. Driven everywhere.

Santa Cruz is our home base. Humanity is the neighborhood.

Kinfolk Standard began on a stretch of coast shaped by waves, redwoods, outsiders, artists, fighters, farmers, surfers, families and people doing things their own way. Santa Cruz is the birthplace — not the boundary.

Inside the Community

No strangers. Just kin we haven't met yet.

Good people know good people.

Tell us where you're from. We'll send you stories worth reading, what's happening in our corner of the world, and new work from Kinfolk Standard.
